Last Look Inside Garden State Plaza J.C. Penney; Store Closing Saturday J.C. Penney at Westfield's Garden State Plaza was nearly empty Friday evening. Shoppers hoping to snag one last item lingered near the entrances, picking through markdown items on the remaining few racks. J.C. Penney began closing stores across the U.S. in 2014. The store will close Saturday after more than 60 years at the mall.
