A 40-year-old Glen Rock woman walking her dog was hospitalized after she was struck by an SUV while crossing the street in broad daylight, authorities said. A 76-year-old Hawthorne resident received a summons for failing to yield following the Nov. 14 noontime crash. The pedestrian and her dog were crossing Ackerman Avenue when the driver made a left from westbound Rock Road heading south and his 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek hit her, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. A driver was hospitalized after an SUV slammed into a utility pole in Glen Rock. The Honda CRV crashed on Maple Avenue near the corner of Ackerman Avenue around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. Members of the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the driver to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson with chest pains. A Cliffside Park driver who police said was carrying 150 bottles of various prescription pills in the names of dozens of other people when he was stopped for DWI in Glen Rock identified himself as his brother, authorities said. Five vehicles at a Glen Rock auto body shop were damaged by a runaway sedan. The 82-year-old driver from Fair Lawn reported having "mechanical difficulty" before her Toyota Camry crossed the double-yellow line on northbound Ackerman Avenue and barreled into the lot at Martens Body and Fender Friday afternoon, borough Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. A 19-year-old Glen Rock driver was one of six people crammed into a car built for five that crashed in the borough late Sunday, sending the other driver to the hospital, authorities said. 75-Year-Old Driver Hospitalized After Runaway SUV Crashes Through Fences In Glen Rock
A 75-year-old driver was hospitalized Thursday after her SUV ran off the road, crashed through several fences and wound up wedged against fencing and shrubs in Glen Rock. An ambulance took the driver to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that responders said weren't considered life-threatening after the Ackerman Avenue crash. A Glen Rock police sergeant prevented a potential tragedy when he stopped a drugged, unlicensed repeat offender driving a stolen car and carrying a large knife and four empty crack vials, authorities said. Two people were transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries after a Volks Wagon sedan blew through a stoplight and hitting pushing the car ahead into another vehicle on the road, Glen Rock police said. One of the three cars wound up on the front lawn of a Rock Road home before being towed from the scene -- the intersection at Ackerman Avenue -- along with the other two.
