CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- Cliffside Park School No. 3 presented its 5th annual American Idol Talent Show on May 19, with 26 acts from dancing to singing.

The students have been practicing weekly since February with the assistance of D.J. Cruz, Mrs. Cruz and School No. 3 teachers Cheryl Khanukayev, Schneider Souza, Stephanie Brennan and Iveth Mollinedo.

The winners of the 2016 show were Ashley Llangari, who won first place for her rendition of "Fight Song"; Damian Vasquez, who won second place for his song, "Death of a Bachelor"; and Iana Noel and Alani Rivas tied for third place.

Almost 175 spectators packed the school's auditorium, for the two-hour show. The students also presented an encore show the following day, so their fellow students could enjoy the show.
