Fairview Children Aim To Read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- Five Fairview children are taking part in the national literacy campaign 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, in partnership with the Fairview Free Public Library -- and four of them have already reached the halfway mark.

Each child has read 500 books and will read 500 more before beginning kindergarten. "That is quite an accomplishment and we would be remiss if we did not recognize their achievement," the library noted.

The campaign's objectives are to promote reading to newborns, infants and toddlers, and encouraging parent-child bonding through reading For more information, visit the program's official website.
