North Bergen Mayor (and state Sen. and Asst. Supt. of Schools) Nicholas Sacco
The woman’s “phone records indicate that she did text message her. But that doesn’t mean that they were sexual in nature — sexting, if you will,” North Bergen Police Sgt. Henry Marerro tells an interviewer while sitting at his desk, gun holster draped over his shoulder.
“We received a report of viral smack talk,” the sergeant says, this time looking directly into the camera, “and…”
He then makes a derogatory curly-Q “S” sign with his index finger.
“You can’t use that last part,” Marrero says. “I’m f*****’ serious.”.
But the producer uses it, anyway. Why Marrero is even involved in the petty dispute is unclear.
Also, for some reason, the video’s creator identifies Marrero as an Edgewater police officer:
The video, which purports to proclaim Edgewater and the “River Road” area along the Hudson River in New Jersey as a hot locale, filled with “new money,” includes shots of North Bergen’s Sacco, who is also a state Senator and the second-ranking official with the township school district, at some type of party.
“We network. The mayor, the police chief, the Senator,” the narrator says, over the crystal-clear video of Sacco at a party.
River Road?
“It sounds kinda like somewhere that would be kinda like, I don’t know, a dump site,” a New Yorker tells an interviewer.
Which serves only to set up the comeback on the video, which has barely broken 2,300 views since it was posted more than a month and a half ago.
“If you ain’t here, you ain’t hot enough to be here,” the producer, wearing a “River Road” t-shirt, says into the camera. “The best-kept secret, until now.”
“That’s the beauty. No one has ever heard of it…. It has the highest per capita hotness in the nation…. It’s a small community that does everything big.
“We party like rock stars… Live for the moment … Never settle for less.”
At one point in the video, two women get into a catfight that nearly boils over. Although it’s never clear exactly where the trouble is, the video seems to indicate they are at the Waterside.
“I do not need to text your man,” one woman says to another. “Show me the text.”
At that point, Marrero — who has close ties to Sacco and to Police Chief William Galvin — gets involved.
The rest of the 4:38 clip includes the same young people in different settings. They include a man, James, who claims to have won a $97 million Powerball in Florida, and Charisse, the woman involved in the texting argument, who insists she’s not local trash but, actually, an opera singer.
“I sing in six different languages,” she says, before providing proof of two. “Don’t let the classical voice fool you. I do have a naughty side.”
The same woman is seen, in a distressed state, holding one of her hair extensions in her hand following an apparent argument.
Also roped into the video is former New York Giant Ryan Grant, a member of the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, who played for Don Bosco Prep.
“River Road is a story of its own,” says the producer.
According to those commenting on the video, he’s angling for a reality show. But no one is banking on him making it.
“Hate it or love it, we are who we are,” he says, overdubbing one of the videos. “THAT’s River Road.”
