The party begins at 10:30, with Frank “DJ JUNGLE” Torres spinning his irresistable trance of disco, house, salsa and meringue.
Come earlier, and you’ll have one of the most savory meals imaginable. Trust me when I tell you: The veal milanese is to die for!
You’ll also get a bit of old-time Italian atmosphere on certain Fridays, with singer Jason Nazzaro doing the best of Sinatra. Sets are at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Makes for a nice, lounge-style date or gathering of friends before Antonia’s magically transforms into a party palace.
Don’t be surprised to find Antonia herself shaking her groove thing in the crowd once the music starts. You’ll know her by her thick, blond locks and constant motion. Just remember: If you let her get past, she’ll be gone, just like that! (Be sure to tell her you read about her on CLIFFVIEWPILOT.) She never stops moving — especially at night, as she goes table-to-table making sure every diner is satisfied.
So far, everything Antonia has touched has turned to gold. And that’s because she pays great attention to detail; few restaurant owners listen to their customers as closely as she does. In the end, her previous establishment, Noni’s, in Edgewater, was obviously too small to hold her talent — and ambitions.
That’s why you can expect a MAJOR party every Friday night.
Be sure to try Antonia’s by the Park for dinner. You can’t miss, no matter the choice, although a little bird (OK, my wife) said you’d be nuts not to seriously consider the night’s seafood special.
And the pasta — unlike any you’ve ever tasted.
No cover, ever, at Antonia’s. And she has valet parking, which is a huge bonus.
