The robber showed a weapon in the River Road holdup around 12:30 p.m., Police Director Donald Martin said.
No one was injured, he said.
It was unclear how much was taken.
"They're counting up the drawers now," Martin said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was investigating. The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification was collecting evidence.
