Michael Costantino, 35, apparently was headed to Toronto when he began “acting in an alarming manner, shouting, etc.,” in the airport lobby of Terminal C, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

Constantino, who won “Boxer of the Night” honors at the Golden Gloves in 2002, has a bit of a history with the industry: Two years ago he sued the TSA, claiming he was rejected for a screener’s job because of his handicap.

Two authority police were walking Costantino to an ambulance Friday morning when he suddenly connected with a left hook to one of them and then bit the other’s right hand, Pentangelo said.

A screaming and spitting Costantino was subdued with the help of backups, one of whom injured his back, and taken to a Queens hospital.

Costantino, of Whitestone, was charged with three counts of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
