Ricardo Allen Demby, 31, entered Prince Chicken on Anderson Avenue just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, grabbed the cash and took off, Police Chief Martin Kahn told Daily Voice.

The owner tried stopping him, but Demby pushed past and headed south on Anderson Avenue into North Bergen, where on off-duty Guttenberg police sergeant intervened, Kahn said.

Demby was being held on $75,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
