The robbers broke into the office at Dream Cars -- just north of the Fairview Avenue jughandle on Broad Avenue -- and took the keys to a Mercedes and a Kia late Wednesday, Police Chief Martin Kahn told Daily Voice.
The Mercedes "was found unoccupied, with extensive damage" on Route 80, the chief said early Thursday.
That may have occurred from blocking in the Kia at the dealership, he said.
Plans were for it to be examined for evidence by the Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification as Fairview detectives worked with New Jersey State Police on the case.
Meanwhile, Kahn urged citizens to lock their cars and take their keys -- especially given that four vehicles were stolen in the borough over the past week.
