Police had warned John Migliaccio, 31, to stay away from the 18-year-old girl, with whom he'd an "inappropriate personal and emotional relationship" when she was 16 years old, Lt. Vincent Capano told Daily Voice.
"There were inappropriate texts -- not sexual," the lieutenant said. "The parents were disturbed by this and spoke to him.
"We'd spoken to him before, too, and told him to stay away."
Last week, Migliacco -- a volunteer firefighter who lives with his parents in Fairview -- showed up at a softball game the girl was involved in at No. 6 School on Oakdene Avenue, Capano said.
His actions prompted police to arrest Migliaccio on Tuesday and charge him with stalking and harassment, the lieutenant said.
He was released pending a hearing.
