Darwin J. Basora, 24, of 92nd Street, was taken into custody with help from West New York police, Fairview Police Chief Martin Kahn told Daily Voice.
A judge ordered him held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County jail.
Basora snatched an employee backpack that held a cellphone, cash, Beat headphones and other valuables from the stock/storage room of El Trancazo Restaurant on Fairview Avenue on Nov. 8, Kahn said.
