It was nearly 9 a.m. when O’Reilly heard the Lincoln Street woman shouting from her window. The sergeant radioed for backup and tracked the man to a Second Avenue home off 91st Street.

Although he tried fighting them off, the officers got him handcuffed and brought him to headquarters, Fairview Detective Capt. Martin Kahn said.

Jedian A. Cummings — originally from Jersey City but now homeless, police said — is being held on $2,500 at the Bergen County Jail. He has a Municipal Court appearance set  for 4 p.m. next Wednesday in Fairview on charges of burglary and resisting arrest.
