Damien G. Elliott, 22, entered an office at the River Road restaurant on the Hudson River with the weapon late Saturday night, Police Chief William Skidmore said.

He told an employee not to move, then grabbed the cash and ran to the Edgewater Commons Mall parking lot, the chief said.

The employee followed the robber, then called police.

Elliott, who left his car in the lot, was nabbed at home soon after, the chief said.

Elliott was being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County bail, charged with armed robbery, theft and three weapons possession counts.
