An employee at the Duane Reade at Edgewater Towne Center off River Road alerted police – and got a description of the getaway car – after receiving several $100 bogus bills, Chief Donald Martin said.

Officer Tyler Iafelice stopped the vehicle soon after, he said.

Police discovered that other counterfeit cash was passed at the Modell’s, Mitsuwa Market and Men’s Wearhouse.

The four were identified as Kevin Avalos, 28, of Fresh Meadows, Pedtro Marquez, 29, of the Bronx, Jerson Navarro, 25, of Queens, and Michael Galvez, 25, of New York.

All were charged with conspiracy to commit forgery and theft by deception and released pending Feb. 20 appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court.
