East Bergen pre-teen was sexually abused for 4 years, authorities say

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Authorities said a four-year campaign of sexual abuse of a girl not even in her teens led to the today arrest of a 34-year-old construction worker from Fairview following an investigation by local police, their Cliffside Park counterparts and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Ofice.

Erik Eduardo Jiminez, 34, of Henry Street was being held on $300,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said investigators from his Special Victims Unit joined in with police from both towns because the events allegedly occurred in each.

The allegation was reported to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (formerly DYFS), which then contacted the prosecutor’s office, he said.

Arraignments weren’t set as of late this afternoon.
