Cops grab accused pot users, reader gets photo

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An adult and three juveniles caught with a nickel bag of marijuana tried running from Cliffside Park police but were caught with help from their counterparts in Fairview. A CLIFFVIEW PILOT reader submitted a clear, close-up photo of one of the arrests.

Demetric J. Steele, 18, of Cliffside Park, was charged with drug possession.

The two boys — one 15 and two 16 — face related complaints for being under the influence.

The group was sitting in an Anderson Avenue parking lot, barely a block from police headquarters, when a patrol unit rolled up and they took off, Detective Capt. Michael Russo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
