Cops catch juvenile car thieves — one 12

ONLY ON CLIFFVIEW PILOT: Bogota and Teaneck police teamed up to grab three juveniles — one of them 12 years old — who jumped out and ran from a stolen car that crashed into a tree.

It was 1:20 this morning when Sgt. Timothy Geipel tried to stop a 1998 Plymouth Breeze that was speeding down River Road.

The sedan sped up before the driver lost control and it jumped the curb and hit the tree, Detective Geoffrey Cole told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A chase led through yards and over fences before Bogota Officer Walter Kumka, with help from Teaneck patrol, grabbed two of the youngsters. The third was caught nearby.

Police detained the trio — all from Newark. One is 17, another 16 and one 12, Cole said.
