Cliffside Park police grab 3 Guatemalan nationals in beer-bottle mugging

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Cliffside Park police grabbed a trio of Guatemalan nationals who they said attacked three men with beer bottles before fleeing with $200 in cash, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

All three face deportation after being arrested before dawn Sunday following the Palisade Avenue mugging.

A 30-year-old victim sustained a serious gash on his forehead in the attack, police said.

Officers who rushed to the scene  near Jersey Avenue just after 2:45 a.m. got help from a bouncer at a nearby tavern who witnessed the attack.

As a result, they found all three suspects two blocks away, on Walker Street, Detective Capt. Michael Russo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“They still had blood on their clothing and hands,” Russo said.

Brothers Juan and Hugo Osorio are charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and illegal weapons possession.

In addition, 35-year-old Juan Osorio (top, left), who was injured in the incident, is charged with robbery and Hugo Osorio, 25, with conspiracy.

Also charged with conspiracy, aggravated assault with a weapon and and weapons possession is Carlos Armida, 21.

They are being held on $30,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail, with detainers from the INS, which will eventually take custody of them.
