Bogota teacher charged with having female student, 15, touch him

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Bogota health and physical education teacher was arrested this afternoon and charged with having a 15-year-old student touch his genitals three years ago, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

Robert Colasuono, 39, was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact, a third-degree crime.

The girl told a staff member at the Bogota Junior-Senior High School near the end of the 2013 school year that Colasuono grabbed her hand and put it on his crotch in March 2014, when she was in eighth grade, police said.

Records show that Colasuono, who is married, has been with the district eight years.

District officials suspended him with pay for the 10 days remaining in the 2013 school year, then extended it indefinitely in August, Bogota Schools Superintendent Letizia Pantoliano said.
