Francisco J. Castro Reyes of Roosevelt was questioned Sunday after police received reports of a suspicious car parked on Elm Avenue, Detective Capt. James Sepp told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

Reyes told them he was headed to his first in-person meeting with a girl who has two children and lives in a group home in town, Sepp said.

She, like Reyes, is a Salvadoran national, the captain said.

Inside his 2005 Honda Civic, Reyes had a dozen pink roses and six peach roses, as well as a box containing what appeared to be diamond and gold earrings, Sepp said.

“During the course of the conversation, he mentioned that he’d sent her photos” of his penis, the captain said.

“They never had any direct contact,” he added, “just on the phone and texting back and forth.”

Because of her age, Reyes was charged with promoting obscenity and ordered held on $15,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

In addition, federal immigration authorities have filed a detainer on Reyes, records show.
