75-year-old grandfather charged with molesting girl

ANOTHER CLIFFVIEW PILOT SCOOP: A 75-year-old grandfather from North Bergen is being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with molesting a young girl late last week.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said Renee Munoz, of 77th Street, was arrested by members of his Special Victims’ Unit and Cliffside Park police after they discovered that he “engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a nine-year-old female acquaintance” Thursday night.

The girl immediately told her mother, who called borough police, the prosecutor said.

“It was contact, but, based on her age, it’s sexual assault,” a source with direct knowledge of the investigation told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Munoz, who is married, is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment.
