SWAT Team, FBI Track Down Repeat Offender In NJ Bird Store Crossbow Attack
A 53-year-old man accused of shooting a pet store employee in the face with a crossbow in North Jersey was tracked down less than 24 hours later with help from the FBI and the Bergen County SWAT team, and more, in Ocean County, authorities said.
Raymond M. Carey, of Hasbrouck Heights, was captured in Pine Beach on Tuesday, Feb. 18, in connection with the åssault at Birds By Joe 2 (where a $7,000 African parrot was stolen last month) on Route 46 in Saddle Brook, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and store employees.

Authorities in Bergen County are searching for a 31-year-old man with Paterson, NJ and Wilkes-Barre, PA ties accused of an armed robbery in a hotel parking lot.
Henry X. Rodriguez is wanted in connection to an incident that occurred on Friday, Feb. 14, at approximately 8:12 p.m., according to Detective Sergeant Eric Larsen of the Mahwah Police Department.
Police say Rodriguez confronted a man and woman in the parking lot of a local hotel, brandished a handgun, and stole the woman’s purse before fleeing the scene.

A 27-year-old Fair Lawn man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his car into a telephone pole over the weekend, authorities said.
Police Officer Vincent Messina responded to the scene at the corner of Fair Lawn and Parmelee avenues around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, after receiving reports of a single-car crash, police said.

A 19-year-old from New Jersey has been charged with first-degree murder after two women were found dead in a Rockland County apartment, authorities said.
Alan "Alina" Abad, of Westwood, is believed to have killed two females in an apartment on Gesner Drive in Spring Valley, who were found by officers performing a welfare check around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, Chief Richard Oleszczuk said.
