EDGEWATER, N.J. — More than $1,100 had been raised as of Tuesday evening on a GoFundMe page created by an Edgewater woman to help her father.

Cee Crespo explained that her father was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 for the first time at 57 years old. Crespo was pregnant at the time and thought that after having his colon removed, her father had beaten the cancer.

The victory proved to be temporary because it metastasized to Stage 4 cancer in his live and some lymph nodes. Treatment has kept Crespo's father out of work since May.

"The cancer drugs being used now are aggressive and each time he has chemo, it takes a little longer for him to feel better," Crespo said on the page. "My parents are struggling financially and any help that anyone can give would be so very much appreciated."

Funds raised will solely be used for paying off her father's bills and chemotherapy drug co-payments.
