Cliffside Park Doctor Honored As 'White House Champion Of Change'

CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. — A Cliffside Park native was honored Friday morning at the White House as a Champion of Change for the Affordable Care Act, NJ.com reports.

Aakash Shah, who graduated from BCA in Hackensack, is the founder of Be Jersey Strong, a student-led grassroots movement out of Cliffside Park that aims to ensure that every New Jersey resident who is eligible and interested in having health insurance is able to obtain it, the organization’s website says.

The movement is accessible in more than 50 different languages; roughly two-thirds of the organization’s volunteers speak a second language, NJ.com says.
