Three Buildings Damaged In Early Morning Fire In Avalon Three buildings were damaged by an early morning fire in Cape May County, officials said. Avalon firefighters responded to the house fire on the 100 block of 32nd Street just before 1 a.m. on Friday, Apr. 12, the borough said in a Facebook post. The fire began in a single-family home under construction and a photo from the borough showed extensive damage to the house's second floor. The fire was under control by about 1:50 a.m. and no one was injured. Two neighboring buildings were also damaged by the fire. Meyers Brewing Company will open a sister location in Ocean View, the brewery said in a Facebook post on Saturday, Apr. 6. It will be called Meyers Lighthouse Brewing Company and is expected to open in May. The new brewery will be located on Route 9, about a quarter-mile north of the intersection with Sea Isle Boulevard. It may link back to a meteor that fell to Earth on Nov. 13, 2021, according to Chris Bakley, an astro-photographer.  "The meteor was so large that many eyewitnesses saw it take over the daytime sky. NASA officials stated that meteorites could possibly be found around our area. All efforts to find these said meteorites came back unsuccessful… Until today!"
