Deadly Fire Rips Through Atlantic County Apartment Complex One person died in an apartment fire in Atlantic County over the weekend, authorities said. Franklin Township police were called to the apartment on the 1000 block of Summer Avenue in the Minotola section of Buena at around 8:40 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. Firefighters from Atlantic, Cumberland, and Gloucester counties battled the fire for several hours. 'Lost Everything:' 20 People Without Homes In Wildwood Apartment Fire A fire ripped through an apartment in Cape May County, leaving 20 people without homes, including a man and his pregnant wife. Wildwood firefighters were called to the building at 319 East Juniper Avenue just before 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, the city's fire department said. The building has six apartments on two floors. Everyone got out of the building, but one person was airlifted to a Philadelphia hospital after suffering burns and smoke inhalation. A Wildwood police officer was treated at the scene for minor injuries after slipping on ice.
