Atlantic City Vet Remembered On D-Day With New WWII Monument: 'We Appreciate Your Service' Atlantic City unveiled a new World War II memorial in honor of a city native who was an Army medic. The city held a dedication ceremony for the Bernie Friedenberg World War II Memorial on Thursday, June 6. The unveiling was held on D-Day exactly 80 years after the Allied invasion of Normandy, France. The memorial at O'Donnell Memorial Park also honors all other Americans who served during World War II. These are the words 27-year-old Dana Alotaibi, of Virginia, said through tears in a recorded call with the National Suicide Awareness Hotline posted to YouTube last January. Seven months later, Falls Church's Alotaibi was stabbed dead by the very man she had been fearful of, Bryant Tejeda-Castillo, on the H-3 freeway in Hawaii, according to those who knew her and police. Tejeda-Castillo was charged with second-degree murder and being held on $1 million bond. Support Surges For Family After Sudden Death Of Beloved Jersey Shore Native, Former Marine, 29 Support is on the rise for the heartbroken family of beloved Jersey Shore native and former marine Nicholas J. Delong, Jr., who died suddenly on Monday, Feb. 7 at the age of 29. Born in Philadelphia, Delong grew up in Cape May County, where he lived at the time of his death, his obituary says. Delong graduated from Wildwood High School in 2010 before serving in the Marines for two years and beginning work as an auto body repair technician, according to his memorial.
