South Jersey Man Pleads Guilty To Selling Fatal Drug Overdose An Atlantic City man admitted selling a deadly combination of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl to two Atlantic City men at a laundromat where he worked. One died. Ramon Rivera, 51, pleaded guilty to the 2020 drug-induced death, authorities said. Felipe Popocati Garcia Lopez, 42, died after he and a 39-year-olld man were found unresponsive inside Haps Laundromat on Sept. 23, 2020, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds. Critical After Trying To Save Children From Drowning In Ocean: Police A 28-year-old mother is in critical condition after trying to save her children in the ocean in South Jersey, authorities said. Brigantine police and firefighters responded to a 9-1-1 call at 9:28 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13 for a swimmer in distress. The Beach Patrol arrived and rescued two young children and their mother from the water.  According to a witness, the two children appeared to have become overpowered by the current and were in distress. Man, 34, Shot Dead In Atlantic County: Prosecutor A 34-year-old man was shot to death in Atlantic County, authorities said. Somers Point police responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 8:26 p.m. about a shooting at 50 Mays Landing Road.  Police found Joshua Hannah of Somers Point suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill.   Hannah was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Campus, but succumbed to his injuries, Shill said. Avery Bracey, 39, was sentenced to 50 years for felony murder, 18 years for attempted witness tampering, 17 years for first-degree robbery, four years for criminal restraint, 18 years for weapons offenses, eight years for aggravated assault and three years on drug charges.
