An Atlantic County volunteer fire department is asking for help after its assistant fire chief was severely injured in an oil refinery explosion. The Milmay Volunteer Fire Company said it happened while Michael Black was battling a fire at his career firefighting job at the Phillips 66 refinery in Linden. Two dogs were hospitalized after a house fire destroyed a Burlington County home, friends say. Luckily, Brittany and Jimmy Enright and their two young children were not at home when it caught fire in Marlton, but their dogs suffered from smoke inhalation. Dogs Woke Fire Victim But Home Destroyed In Central Jersey
A Central Jersey woman and her dogs are recovering after their home was heavily damaged by fire last week. Friends have come to the aid of Valentina Mejia who was asleep when she was abruptly woken up by her dogs barking. At least 18 families were displaced by an apartment house fire in Galloway, authorities said. The fire broke out at 5:07 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Apache Court, Galloway police said. Two people suffered from smoke inhalation in Cape May County. At about noon Wednesday, North Wildwood firefighters responded to a structure fire at 217 E. 24th Ave. in North Wildwood, according to Fire Chief Dominick J. McClain.
