Mom, 73, Son Found Shot Dead In NJ Home
A 73-year-old grandmother and her 33-year-old son were found shot dead in her Clifton home, authorities confirmed on Wednesday. Investigators said Peter Koc apparently fired the shots that killed him and Zofia Koc in the 3rd Street home that she and his late father bought when was a toddler. However, they have more work to do before officially determining whether it was a murder-suicide or an incident that may have begun with an unintentional shooting, Daily Voice has learned. Beloved East Brunswick High School graduate Shania Anaija Guadalupe died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 21 at the age of 28. Guadalupe was from New Brunswick and lived in East Brunswick, where she graduated high school in 2011, according to her social media page. Guadalupe attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, where she studied business administration, her page says. She also studied at Temple University’s Fox School of Business and LIO Brooklyn. Niche has released its 2022 rankings of the best colleges in New Jersey. Princeton University was ranked first among the top 10 in the state. The calculations were based on "an analysis of academic, admissions, financial, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and alumni." A Seton Hall University student died after suffering a medical emergency in a dorm room Monday, school officials said. The unidentified student was in Neumann Hall at the time of the incident, according to SHU President Joseph E. Nyre. The cause of death was not released, pending a medical examiner's report. Mercer County Man, 30, Admits Guilt In Fatal Applebee's Shooting, Faces 7-Year Prison Sentence
A 30-year-old Mercer County man has admitted that he fatally shot a man in the head at an Applebee's restaurant as part of a plea deal. Noel Powell III pleaded guilty on Wednesday to second-degree manslaughter, an act committed in the heat of passion with reasonable provocation, before Superior Court Judge Darlene Pereksta. The plea agreement calls for Powell to serve 85% of the seven years - 5 years and 11 months - before he’s eligible for parole.
