Joseph K. Cole, 47, Worked For Salem City Schools, 'Enjoyed Fishing' Joseph Kenneth Cole, of Carneys Point, died on Thursday, Jan. 18, according to an obituary published by Adams Funeral Home. He was 47 years old.  Born in Woodbury and raised in Pedricktown, Joe was a 1994 graduate of Penns Grove High School, his obituary said. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Joe worked for the Salem City School District for the last 10 years as their district plumber. "Joe really enjoyed fishing and hunting and he loved going to Maine," his obit said. NJ 7-Year-Old Finds Gun In Backpack During Class, Older Relative Charged: Report A high school student and his 7-year-old relative found a gun in his backpack in class at Salem County, NJ Advance Media reported.  “My sense of it is that the student realized or discovered it after opening his book bag, which distressed him and prompted him to tell his teacher,” Salem City School District Superintendent Patrick Michel told NJ Advance Media.  The child apparently found the .38-caliber revolver in his bag during class at John Fenwick Academy in Salem City, and told his teacher on Friday, April 1.
