Busy Atlantic City Bridge To Be Closed Overnight Next Week
A busy bridge in Atlantic City will be periodically closed overnight next week as part of a major construction project. Crews for the state Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will work on the Route 30 drawbridge over Beach Thorofare from Monday, Feb. 26 to Friday, Mar. 1, the Atlantic City Police Department said. The bridge will be raised for 30 minutes an hour between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. State police will be near the construction area to help with lane closures. A pedestrian crash closed all lanes of a portion of Route 30 Thursday evening, Feb. 8, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The crash happened east of Route 73 in Waterford. Rt 30 all lanes closed in both directions East of NJ 73 in Waterford Twp due to crash. Crash With Injuries On Route 30 Camden County
A crash with injuries closed Route 30 in Camden County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 1:40 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25 east of Route 669 (Stone Road) in Lindenwold, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. All lanes were closed, 511nj.org reported.

Teens Arrested After Stolen Car Overheats: Police
A pair of teenagers were arrested after their stolen vehicle overheated, authorities said. On Friday, Aug. 18, at 2:20 p.m., Atlantic City Police Officers Troy Grams and Michael Regalbuto observed a Kia Rio traveling in the area of the 1200 block of Drexel Avenue. The Kia had been reported stolen earlier in the day. The officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop when the vehicle sped off leading the officers on a pursuit. Motorcyclist Killed In Atlantic City Crash: Police
A 61-year-old motorcyclist from Pleasantville was killed in a crash, authorities said. The crash occurred at 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, June 18 near mile marker 54 on the eastbound lanes of Route 30, Atlantic City police said. Police found that Pearl Matthew had been ejected from his seat. He was pronounced dead at the crash scene. A preliminary investigation, that included witness statements, revealed that Matthews left the roadway and struck a pole. Atlantic City Man Arrested With Loaded Handgun
A 23-year-old man from Atlantic City was arrested with a loaded handgun and ammunition, authorities said. At 4:46 p.m., detectives of the Special Investigations Section arrested Daniele Tuitt in possession of a loaded handgun, police said. Detective Alberto Valles was conducting surveillance when he observed Tuitt crossing Route 30 near North Carolina Avenue. While Tuitt was walking, Valles reportedly observed him remove a handgun from his waistband and then put it back, police said. Tuitt was arrested without incident.
