Two men wanted for beating attendants during a two-day spree of quick-stop armed gas station robberies in three New Jersey counties were captured by federal agents, authorities said.
Ex-con Ahmad Singletary, 24, and Joseph Young, 26, both of Newark, committed three of the robberies last Sept. 5, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
Four more holdups -- also in a single day -- followed exactly a week later, the U.S. attorney said.

A Bergen County prosecutor’s lieutenant stole cocaine and potentially deadly fentanyl from his department's evidence room, then tried to return the drugs in “substantially different” condition after superiors got wise, state authorities charged.

The last of four men caught stealing more than $1.5 million worth of luxury cars in New Jersey, Rockland County, Long Island and Connecticut took a guilty plea on Thursday, federal authorities announced.
Like his pals, Malik Baker, 29, of Vauxhall, NJ, took a deal from the government, pleading guilty in federal court in Newark on Oct. 19 to conspiring to transport stolen vehicles in interstate commerce and receiving a stolen vehicle that had crossed state lines after being stolen.
U.S. District Judge Esther Salas scheduled Baker's sentencing for March 7, 2024.

An East Orange man has been arrested and charged with the armed robbery of the Investors Bank in Cherry Hill, authorities said.
The robbery occurred on Dec. 22, 2022, said Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, and the fugitive was arrested Thursday, Jan. 5 in Passaic.
William Ray, 42 of East Orange, is accused of entering the Investors Bank at 1951 Route 70 in Cherry Hill and holding the employees at gunpoint. Ray then allegedly attempted to lock the employees in a vault before fleeing with more than $76,000 in cash, MacAulay said.

Eleven accused members of a drug ring that authorities said openly peddled crack and potentially fatal fentanyl in a Newark neighborhood were charged federally on Wednesday.
The ring's "primary supplier," Frazier Burton, 46, was caught with 100 bricks of heroin and fentanyl when tactical officers arrested him Wednesday morning, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.

Shawn Alexander, 52, has spent all but three of the past 27 years in custody, including three stints in state prison, records show.
