A man from Woodbury has won a $750,000 lawsuit for sexual assaults that he was allegedly subjected to at a Salem County youth shelter 30 years ago. Dennis Bachman filed suit in Superior Court in December 2019, accusing a female counselor of sexually assaulting him at the former New Jersey Juveniles in Need of Supervision facility in Woodstown. The alleged abuse occurred around 1994 when Bachman was 15 years old. The lawsuit accused the county of failing to monitor the counselor’s behavior and failing to prevent the sexual assaults. A lawsuit that allegedly cost taxpayers thousands was dismissed against an Atlantic County police department accused of misconduct during a domestic violence arrest, authorities said. An EMT who was injured in a fall while working at Mountain Creek reportedly settled a lawsuit against the resort for $1.75 million. A pair of men shot by police in a 2019 fireworks incident have filed a federal suit against Jersey City and some of its officials. Devonte Moore and Shaquan Rush were in a group of young men shooting Roman Candles at each other in the Arlington Gardens Public housing complex on July 1, 2019, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.
