Fire Destroys Home In Mercer County: Police A fire destroyed a home in Lawrence Township, authorities said. On Friday, Jan. 26, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Lawrence Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting smoke coming from 175 Johnson Ave in Eggerts Crossing Village. Police found a visible fire on the second floor of the home. The residents were not home. The fire was brought under control at about 2 p.m. There were no injuries, however the home sustained significant damage, police said.  The American Red Cross responded to the scene to aid the displaced family, they said. Firefighters Douse Fire At Lawrenceville School Faculty Residence There was a fire at the faculty residence of The Lawrenceville School, a boarding and day school, on Monday, Jan. 22, authorities said. The fire broke out at about 11:50 a.m. on Humphrey Drive, Lawrenceville police said. Members of the Lawrence Township Fire Department were assisted by area fire departments from Hamilton Township, City of Trenton, Ewing Township, Princeton Township, Robbinsville Township and Plainsboro Township.
