The heroic rescue of a woman who fell through the ice in a frozen South Jersey lake Thursday afternoon was captured in a stunning video clip. Hopewell Township officers responded to Rosedale Lake at Rosedale Park off of Federal City Road on reports that a woman had fallen through the ice and was submerged up to her neck around 12:25 p.m., police said. The woman was found in distress about 25 yards from the shoreline, “flailing around and struggling to keep her head above the water,” according to Hopewell Township police. New Jersey State Police and staff members from University Hospital rescued three jet skiers who were stranded in a marshy area on the Jersey Shore. Troopers from the Marine Services Bureau were dispatched to a marsh near the Ocean City Airport around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, when the mother of one called in the situation to police, New Jersey State Police said. A young Jewish man who went missing in Lakewood Sunday evening was found alive Monday morning inside a wooded area, so cold he was unable to move. The man, believed to be 18 years old, was dropped off by friends at a Drake Road Yeshiva Sunday evening, The Lakewood Scoop reports. Homeless Man Found Frozen To Death In Palisades Park Garage, Companion Hospitalized
A 35-year-old homeless man was found frozen to death and his companion barely alive Friday morning in a Palisades Park municipal parking garage, authorities said. The male companion was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Hackensack University Medical Center, they said. A construction worker from Pennsylvania died when the machine he was operating fell into frigid Linden waters, trapping him inside for nearly an hour Thursday morning, according to officials and news reports.
