South Jersey Man Charged With Drug-Dealing Near A School: Prosecutor

A man and a woman have been charged with various drug offenses at a bodega and near a school in Cemden County, authorities said.

On Tuesday, March 28, search warrants were executed in Pennsauken at the Bodega 856 located at 5051 Westfield Avenue, at a residence on the 7000 block of Githens Avenue, and a vehicle, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay alongside Pennsauken Police Chief Phillip Olivo.

 Recovered during the warranted searches were:

  • Three pounds of marijuana
  • A loaded Glock handgun containing a high-capacity magazine
  • Approximately $20,000 in cash.

After the execution of the search warrants, Matthew Rivera, 29, of Pennsauken, was arrested and charged with dealing marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, firearms offenses, and other drug-related charges, the prosecutor said.

In addition, Pamela Canepa, 28, of Pennsauken, was arrested and charged with dealing marijuana, the prosecutor said.
