The fires were all mostly contained as of 6 p.m. and were sparked by a passing train. Byrne State Forest was 100 percent contained as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said. Forest Fire Service staff will remain on scene and continue to monitor control lines and address areas of concern until significant precipitation occurs to ensure public safety.
