5,000-Acre Forest Fire Raging In South Jersey (Updated) Firefighters were battling a 5,000-acre wildfire in Bass River State Forest in Burlington County, authorities said. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is working to contain of a wildfire burning in the area of Allen Road. The wildfire had reached 5,000 acres in size and was only 5o% contained, fire service officials said late Thursday, June 1.
