Police ID Pedestrian Killed By Truck In Monmouth County Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was killed in Freehold on Tuesday, Jan. 9. A spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said 61-year-old David Belcher was hit by a pickup on Route 9 South. No hometown for Belcher was given as of Thursday, Jan. 11. Freehold Township police responded to the crash a few hundred feet north of the Route 9 interchange with New Jersey Route 33 just after 5:30 p.m. Officers found Belcher lying in the road and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Driver Killed In U-Haul Truck Crash ID'd As Spotswood Woman, 53 Marlboro police released the name of the driver who died on Monday after her car toppled a telephone pole and collided with a parked U-Haul truck. Donna Piegaro, 53, of Spotswood was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which closed Route 9 southbound for more than nine hours from Old Bridge to Manalapan Township, a Marlboro police spokesman said.  The crash toppled a telephone pole onto the victim's Ford Edge and wires onto four other vehicles, Marlboro Captain Stephen Levy said. No one else was hurt, he said.
