Central Jersey Dad Indicted For Smothering His 6-Week-Old Baby, Prosecutor Says A Monmouth County grand jury has indicted a 23-year-old man in the smothering death of his baby girl, authorities said. Austin Meli, a 23-year-old resident of Wall Township, was indicted on Friday for murder and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of his 6-week-old daughter, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni. Asbury Park Teen Faces 10-Year Prison Sentence In Shooting Near Brick High School An Asbury Park teenager faces up to 10 years in state prison for his role in a shooting outside an Ocean County high school, authorities said. Alonzo Legrande, who is now 18, pleaded guilty on Thursday to aggravated assault and weapons charges, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. He is due to be sentenced on Nov. 20. Legrande originally was charged as an adult on Sept. 10 with four counts of attempted murder and weapons charges, Billhimer said.
