Mercer County Sheriff's Detective, Burlington Mom Jessica Cardona Dies, 46 Jessica Cardona, a mother and internal affairs detective with the Mercer County Sheriff's Department, died on Dec. 9, 2023.  She was 46 years old. The Burlington mother leaves behind her husband Kenneth Cardona; sons Dazani DeLeon, Jerel DeLeon and wife Angela, and Devian DeLeon. She was born to Santos and Carmen Hernandez in Puerto Rico, her obituary says. A GoFundMe for Cardona's family says she worked as a detective in the MCPO's internal affairs unit for 21 years and cherished her role as a mother. Click here for Jessica's complete obituary.

Search For Missing Person Ends Tragically Near NJ Mountain The search for a missing person ended tragically when their body was found near a New Jersey mountain, authorities said. The person, whose name is being withheld, was last seen on Friday, Aug. 18, according to Hopewell Township and Pennington Borough police. The .380 caliber handgun, which was accompanied by two loaded gun magazines and a pellet gun, was the first firearm found at the airport checkpoint in 2022, the TSA said. South Jersey Woman Shot Man In Face, Police Say A South Jersey woman was charged after shooting a man in the face, authorities said. Tiffany Wiggins was charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and various weapons offenses, Trenton Police said in a release on Wednesday, July 27. Officers responding to a shooting report on Sweets Avenue in Trenton found the man with a gunshot wound to the face on Tuesday, July 5, police said.
