NJ Corrections Officer Dies While Working At Youth Facility, Campaign Says
A youth officer with the New Jersey Department of Corrections died over the weekend. Senior Correctional Police Officer Emiliano Serrano, of Camden, died on Sunday, Aug 6. He worked in Burlington County. A Marine Corps veteran, Serrano died at work, a GoFundMe page said, but the exact circumstances of his death were unclear. Serrano began his NJDOC career in 2007. The Naval Academy has identified the Annapolis midshipman who died while on leave in Philadelphia. Taylor Connors, a 24-year-old Pleasant View, Utah native, died Tuesday, June 7, with family by his bedside, the US Naval Academy said. “Our Naval Academy community is mourning a tragic loss this week of a life taken far too soon – Midshipman Taylor Connors honorably served his nation as a Marine and as a midshipman,” said Vice Adm. Marine From NJ Dies During Grueling 'Crucible' Training
A Marine recruit from South Jersey died during the "Crucible" training event at the boot camp in South Carolina. Dalton Beals, 18, of Pennsville in Salem County, died Friday and was set to graduate on June 18.
