An Atlantic City drug dealer has been sentenced to seven years in New Jersey state prison for causing the death of a 37-year-old woman who fatally overdosed on fentanyl-laced heroin, authorities said. Nearly a quarter-million dollars in cash and more than 100 pounds of marijuana were seized during a raid on an illegal marijuana dispensary doing business in a Route 38 strip mall in Burlington County, authorities said. Atlantic City Drug Dealer Sold Fentanyl-Laced Heroin To 37-Year-Old OD Victim, Prosecutor Says
An Atlantic City drug dealer was charged in a 2019 overdose death of a 37-year-old victim from Burlington County, authorities announced. Holly Morris met Kahlil Carpenter, 30, in Lumberton Township the day before her death to buy the drugs, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina. Officers on Dec. 14, 2019, found Morris dead in a bed inside her Inverness Circle home in Evesham Township, Coffina said. A 30-year-old Atlantic City man has been arrested for selling drugs that resulted in a fatal overdose, authorities said. Kahlil Carpenter, 30, of the 1800 block of Marmora Avenue, was charged with first-degree strict liability for drug-induced death and other drug-related charges, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Evesham Township Police Chief Christopher Chew. A 46-year-old woman from Burlington County has been arrested for giving medicine to a sick puppy while falsely claiming to be a member of an animal rescue group, authorities said.
