Support is on the rise for a Trenton mother who lost three of her four children in a five-year span. Toshawn West first lost her first-born, Nuna, then her second-born, Nyshirah, and now, her third, Shydasia Merrick. Merrick, 26, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver at approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, as previously reported by Daily Voice. The community is mourning the loss of a 17-year-old boy whose "life was just beginning" when he was killed in a car accident. Jayson Lee Cugliari of Forked River had just been accepted to the college of his choice, Stockton University. He was working and getting ready for Christmas, according to a GoFundMe page. Funeral Services Announced For Slain South Jersey Police Officer
Funeral services were announced for Deptford Police Officer Robert J. “Bobby” Shisler, 27, who died Sunday, May.7 as a result of a gunshot wound in March. Shisler’s service is scheduled for noon on May 17 at Rowan University’s Pfleeger Concert Hall in Glassboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a pass and reflection from 9 a.m. to noon that day at the same hall at 201 Mullica Hill Road. The burial is private. A Trenton attorney has filed a lawsuit of her father's behalf accusing a funeral home of messing up her mother's services and burial, The Trentonian reports. Janet Kay was dressed in another woman's clothing, and wearing someone else's wedding ring and jewelry, when she was buried in a different cemetery days before her funeral service, says the complaint filed by Robin Kay Lord. A man who fought to live for two weeks after being injured by a shipping container explosion in Millersville has died, reports CBS 13. Kevin Patrick Zichelli, 33, was opening the container when a piece of equipment inside the container ignited gas leaking from a propane tank, causing the explosion at a business on the 1500 block of Jabez Run on Wednesday, May 4. Services Set For Woodbridge High School Teacher, Matawan Football Coach, 45, Who Died Suddenly
Visiting hours and a funeral service are set for Monday for a beloved teacher and assistant football coach who died suddenly Wednesday at Woodbridge High School. Longtime business teacher Jeffrey Grimm, 45, was found by other staff who called 9-1-1 from the high school. Grimm, of Union, also served as offensive line football coach for Matawan Regional High School.
