Police ID Pedestrian Killed By Truck In Monmouth County
Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was killed in Freehold on Tuesday, Jan. 9. A spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said 61-year-old David Belcher was hit by a pickup on Route 9 South. No hometown for Belcher was given as of Thursday, Jan. 11. Freehold Township police responded to the crash a few hundred feet north of the Route 9 interchange with New Jersey Route 33 just after 5:30 p.m. Officers found Belcher lying in the road and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 61-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup in Freehold on Tuesday, Jan. 9, authorities said. Freehold Township police responded to a crash on Route 9 South just after 5:30 p.m., Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced on Wednesday, Jan. 10. A 42-year-old woman was killed and her three children were hurt when her minivan collided head-on with a pickup truck, authorities said. The Ocean Township victim's name has not been released. Colts Neck Football Lineman, Parents Die In Route 9 Crash
Three family members have died as a result of a weekend crash on Route 9, authorities said. Masoud B. Salib, 61, and his wife, Hanaa I. Salib, 52, died on Sunday, July 3, while their son, Mark M. Salib — a former Colts Neck football lineman — died on Tuesday, July 5, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said. The Salibs are survived by another son, Danny. Two passengers were killed and two drivers were seriously injured in a crash on Route 9 in Freehold Sunday, July 3, authorities said. A 74-year-old Manalapan woman heading south on Route 9 sideswiped a 2015 black Lexus RX350 in a 2019 Lexus NX around 1:30 p.m. at the Route 33 intersection, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said.
