Film Studio Part Of $1 Billion NJ Waterfront Project Will Be Funded By $4.7M Grant
A movie production studio in Carteret got a financial boost from New Jersey through a $4.7 million state grant. It's part of a $1 billion, 10-acre redevelopment project, according to Carteret Mayor Daniel J. Reiman. The project includes a 1.2 million-square-foot movie production studio complex called "Carteret Stages." Five grants totaling $9.5 million were awarded throughout the state as part of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority's Film and Digital Media Studio Infrastructure Program. $1B Netflix Production Studio Replacing Long Vacant NJ Property
A Jersey Shore property that has sat vacant for more than a decade will soon be transformed into a nearly $1 billion Netflix production studio. The entertainment company plans on committing $848 million in capital investments to develop the facility on the more than than 292-acre site on the former Fort Monmouth campus in Monmouth County. A movie filming in New Jersey is seeking a real-life couple to portray an on-screen relationship. "Billie + Franny" follows Kayla and Guy: A young woman living in a halfway house who sneaks in her boyfriend. Queen Latifah is back in her home state. The Newark native was spotted this week in Jersey City to film upcoming crime drama "The Equalizer." The do-it-all entertainer and producer was seen Monday on Jersey Avenue, photos published in the Jersey City Times show. 'Sopranos' Prequel Films At Old School North Jersey Ice Cream Shop
Filming for "The Sopranos" prequel starring Michael Gandolfini has resumed in Essex County. The production company for "The Many Saints of Newark" was granted permits to film in Bloomfield, closing several streets that have been transformed into a snowy, 1960s day. The movie halted filming due to COVID-19, pushing the release date off until March 2021. Holsten's on Broad Street was closed Thursday for filming, but reopened Friday.
