Mother, Son Killed In Burlington Apartment Fire: Police
A mother and her son were killed in a fire at an apartment complex in Burlington Township, authorities said.
Police saw heavy smoke coming from an apartment at Northgate Village Apartments when they were called at 3 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, said Lt. Arthur Gittens, a Burlington Township police spokesman.
Firefighters arrived and pulled a man and a woman from the apartment as they worked to extinguish the fire.
Emergency workers attempted to revive the pair with CPR, but Sandra Stevenson, 62, and Eric Stevenson, 28, were pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman said.

A 30-year-old Camden County man was charged with criminal mischief after causing a fire in his apartment, authorities said.
On Sunday, April 23 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Gloucester Township Police Department and the Chews Landing Fire Department (Station 82) responded to the Hilltop Court Apartments located at 1302 N. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood for a reported apartment fire.
Fire Personnel from Station 82, Station 88, Station 75, Station 84, Station 83, Station 32, and Station 65 quickly gained control of the fire.

Burlington County EMS, firefighters and police responded to a four-story apartment building in Evesham Township on Wednesday afternoon on a report of an active fire, authorities said.
An apartment complex is under construction at 101 East Route 70 in Marlton, they said.
The initial call, which included a report of a possible explosion, came in about 4 p.m., authorities said. The fire originated in a fourth-floor apartment, and may have spread to the building's attic. according to initial, unconfirmed reports.
