Michael Swift, of Burlington City, has been charged with second-degree robbery, Evesham police said.

On Nov. 15, 2021 at 4:58 p.m., Evesham police responded to Rite-Aid at 235 North Maple Ave, for a report of a robbery. A suspect had given a note to the cashier with threatening remarks — demanding cigarettes and money from the cash register, police said.

After being provided with those items, the suspect fled on foot towards 100 Church Road, police said. A K9 track led to an item of evidence that was secured for future testing and additional evidence was collected at the scene.

A follow-up investigation by the Evesham Police Department Investigative Bureau, and other agencies within Burlington County who had similar crimes occur in their jurisdictions, resulted in search warrant executions and the recovery of evidence that implicated Michael Swift as the responsible person for the robbery, police said.

Swift was charged and was being held in the Burlington County Jail.
